During a Cold-Stacking Project, Sureclean were contracted to remove all oily residues and clean all areas onboard to allow 3rd parties to apply protective coatings.
Sureclean Scope
Our primary scope of work was to provide the necessary manpower and equipment for the removal of all oily residues using a Hot Water Washer and Industrial detergent. This would allow 3rd party contractors to apply a protective wax coating. Scope of works were extended to include:
- Removal of all Barite and Cement powder using vacuum transfer unit
- Cleaning and sterilisation of redundant sewage plant prior to de-comissioning
Technical Challenge
Logistics associated with resourcing, planning and managing project growth within a critical path.
Labour, equipment and consumable resources were required to be mobilised from Alness base to Transocean 712 drilling rig, located in the middle of the Cromarty Firth.

Additional Information
Sureclean’s ethos of having and providing trained ‘multi-disciplined’ personnel provided a timely and cost effective solution allowing the client to optimise work completed. It involved eight Sureclean personnel, dayshift working with crew changes occurring every 3 weeks. The integrated approach of working together adopted by all contractors involved in the project contributed to its overall success.
