Case Study: Rowan Drilling

Location: Rowan Gorilla VI,Dry Docks, Dundee

During a scheduled shipyard visit we were initially contracted to remove all residues and clean all tanks onboard to allow inspection.

Sureclean Scope

Primary scope of work was to provide the necessary manpower and equipment for the removal of all residues and cleaning of all tanks onboard the Rowan Gorilla VI; allowing inspection and remedial repairs to be carried out. Scope of works were extended to include:

• Removal of all residues and cleaning of all tanks
• Surveying, Camera Inspection and cleaning of entire HVAC system
• Surface Preparation and Painting of hull
• HP Jetting and vessel entry spread for the chlorination of two pot water tanks

Technical Challenge

Logistics associated with resourcing, planning and managing project growth, within a critical path. Manning profile grew from an original plan of 5 personnel, peaking at 18 personnel with equipment requirements increasing accordingly.

Additional Information

Sureclean’s ethos of providing trained ‘multi-disciplined’ personnel provided a timely and cost effective solution allowing the client to optimise work completed. The integrated approach of working together adopted by all contractors involved in the project contributed to its overall success. Involved up to 18 Sureclean personnel, dayshift and nightshift working.
