International industrial cleaning and waste management firm Sureclean invests £1.5 million in new jetting equipment destined for operations in Norway

 The additional units are to be used for a range of decontamination, de-scaling, surface preparation, cold cutting and high pressure pumping operations both on and offshore. Designed to meet dual ATEX and NORSOK safety standards the equipment is certified for hazardous area use in all sectors of the North Sea including Norway and the UK.

Graham McLellan commercial director of Sureclean said: “Investing in new technology is very important to the success of the business. Our strategy has always been based on a brain over brawn approach and I am confident that we now have the strongest fleet of high pressure jetting units in the North Sea.”

The Norwegian market has proven extremely successful for Sureclean generating more than £1.2million – almost 10% of the firm’s turnover - since the office was launched in Stavanger in April 2009.

“Establishing a base in Norway in the middle of the recession is one of the most challenging projects the business has undertaken and I am very pleased to see that our hard work has paid off,” Mr McLellan continued.

These High pressure units were manufactured by specialist pump package manufacturer, Worcester-based Calder Ltd. Steve Sharp, Sales Director of Calder said: “We are pleased to have been able to work closely, once again, with the Sureclean team, to design, manufacture and certify these dual rated Norsok Z015/Atex high pressure pump units. Of course, a tough challenge but by overcoming the technical hurdles that these dual rated units posed, Calder has produced a very flexible and compliant multiple market offshore water jetting unit which will enable Sureclean to mobilise safely and reliably for both their UK and Norwegian fabric maintenance projects.”
